How to export your banner to GIF

There are 2 options for GIF export in BannerBoo — "Frame by Frame GIF" and "Smooth GIF"

Frame by Frame, or Classical GIF

A classical GIF can be used for advertising networks like Google Ads. Here are the requirements for GIF ads:

  • 150kb or smaller
  • Animation length must be 30 seconds or shorter
  • Animations can be looped, but the animations must stop after 30 seconds
  • Animated GIF ads must be slower than 5 FPS

To create the first frame for your future GIF animation, double-click on the timeline at the foot of the page. You will get a little icon showing the place of your key frame. Every next double-click on the timeline will be your GIF animation frame. To make a bigger pause between slides just create more frames close to each other.

You can look at an example here:

After creating animation key frames press a "Publish" button on the right at the top of the "BannerBoo Editor" page.

Then choose the "Convert to GIF" button.

Smooth GIF or HD GIF

To create a Smooth GIF press a "Publish" button on the right at the top of the "BannerBoo Editor" page, then choose the "Convert to Smooth GIF" button.

It will take some time depending on the capacity of the computer and on the banner size.

Smooth GIF is significantly bigger than classical. It is not suitable for ad networks, but you can use it for your website or other purposes.
